A day at the beach can be a lot of fun. But it also requires the right swimwear. There’s two reasons to choose swimwear. The first is obvious. You need to be able to swim in the water with it easily, while also staying cool outside in the hot sun. The other reason is for fashion. People love to use swimwear to show off the pride they have in themselves and their bodies. In the past, many people might have lacked confidence to wear some styles of swimwear. Modern designs have ensured that everyone can find some kind of look that makes them happier.

Whether you’re a man or a woman, you want to find a style that fits you well and makes you feel good about yourself while you’re swimming. This article will try to provide some information about a few of your options.

1 - The Classic One Piece

The one piece swimsuit is one of the most comfortable options available on the market today. While some people have viewed the one piece as “stodgy”, modern styles offer considerable fashion options as well. Many one pieces now take advantage of interesting cutouts to provide the flair that used to be missing from them. There’s little worry when wearing a one piece swimsuit that things will shirt or move while you’re actually int he water, so you can always feel confident.

2 - Bikini

The bikini comes in so many different styles and shapes these days that there are several sub versions as well. Basic bikinis cover the breasts through triangle shaped material and the strings both go behind the back and over the shoulders for comfort and support. Some bikinis may opt to tie up between the breasts for stylistic reasons. There are several styles that are very similar to the bikini as well. The triangle top for example doesn’t tie up around the neck, preferring to use a single loop back around. The look however is very similar. The halter is another style that is similar, as it’s essentially a triangle top that makes use of more fabric behind the neck.

3 - Tankini

For people who feel a bikini is a bit too much for their level of modesty, the tankini offers a good choice. Essentially the tankini combines the skintight and shaped styling of a bikini with a larger upper piece. The appearance is much the same as a camisole tank top. The slight empire waist helps ensure the curves being shown off are the ones desired.

4 - Trunks and Boardshorts

This is the most common style of swimsuit that men tend to gravitate towards Much like the bikini, there are a huge variety of different styles in trunks. Typically they are made from polyester or nylon and have a hidden living inside for some support. Trunks can be short, but often expand quite far down the leg until they reach the length and flair of board shorts. One difference is that Board shorts rarely have an elastic waist, they are usually tied through the use of strings.

5 - Jammers

Jammers are often worn by competitive swimmers and other athletes. These are skin tight suits that go down to the knee and reduce drag when a person is in the water. The lower half look is reminiscent of bicycle shorts, while the upper half can be sleeveless or sleeved.

6 - Swim Briefs

Many people are well acquainted with the “Speedo” look. They are small, tight and bare the entire leg and thigh of the wearer. While here in the United States, the swim brief isn’t too common, they are often used in Europe and elsewhere in the world as the swimwear style of choice.’
